The 271cc 4-stroke 1cylinder engine provides more power than necessary to travel on any terrain. The Kawasaki Brute Force 300 is the perfect choice for anyone who enjoys riding on forest trails or mountain roads.
The Kawasaki Brute Force 300 ATV is a great budget option. It’s also an excellent choice for beginners. This ATV features a CVT (continuously variable transmission) system, which makes it easy to ride on rough terrains. Smooth experiences are possible thanks to the ATV’s single shock rear suspension and independent A-arm front suspension. This makes running over bumps a joy. The multi-functional display, which displays all of the necessary information, is another feature you’ll notice as soon as you ride the ATV.
Honda TRX250X
The Honda TRX 250X four-wheeler is an excellent choice for learning how to ride the quad. The TRX250X ATV is ideal for beginners, making it easy to ride quads. It is also a great ATV for recreational riders.
The Honda TRX250X has a single-cylinder, air-cooled 229cc motor that is simple and reliable. The quad is powered by a dedicated electric starter that provides adequate power. The quad’s most notable feature is the SportClutch, which allows beginners to change gears without fear. It helps improve their ability to shift gears without misguiding power.

Honda Fourtax Foreman 4×4
The 475cc liquid-cooled ATV is truly a beast. This ATV boasts a higher power output and a stronger torque than previous models. This quad is a standout ATV because of its electronic fuel injection.
The semi-automatic 5-speed transmission is easy to use and has many driving modes. Interchanging the 2WD/4WD system allows the rider to choose between 4WD and 4WD. A locking front differential can be used to “optimize the traction,” while a Speed Override mode can be activated if the front differential has been locked. This feature is very useful if you get stuck in the mud.
Can-Am DS 250
Can-Am is the largest ATV manufacturer in the world, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they have also produced affordable ATVs. The Can-Am DS 250 four-wheeler is the most affordable, starting at $4,599. Although the Can-Am DS 250 is slightly more expensive than the other quads, it offers luxury materials and amenities such as an electric start, drivetrain (chain driver), 22-inch front wheels, and luxury materials.
The single-cylinder, liquid CVT gearbox technology makes it easier to shift speeds. Can-Am DS 250’s double-arm and swingarm rear suspension allows it to maneuver over difficult terrain without feeling choppy.
Because of its small dimensions, however, the Can-Am DS 250 can be best suited to children. Dimensions of the ATV measure 72 inches by 40.5 inches by 43.5 inches (183 cm, 103 cm, and 110.5 cm). The Can-Am has one drawback: the ignition switch can sometimes be difficult to use.
Arctic Cat 300 DVX
The 300 DVX, the only sport model in Arctic Cat’s ATV lineup, will be our starting point.
Arctic upgraded the DVX in 2009 with a new 270cc single overhead cam, 4-stroke engine. It also had a wider track, adjustable five-position shocks (preload damping and rebound damping), and 6.1 inches of travel up front.
The 300 DVX has a fully-automatic CVT, which is not typical for a sport quad. It features an electric start, recoil backup, a large fuel tank of 3.4 gallons, lightweight aluminum wheels, and hydraulic disc brakes rear and front.

Although the Hisun Forge 400 4X4 ATV is the most expensive on this list, there’s a good reason. Hisun has created a four-wheeler that is capable of dominating offroad. Two drive systems (4WD and 2WD) are linked to the automatic CVT transmission. The front has a locking differential. The Hisun Forge 400 4X4 has adjustable hydraulic shocks. This is what makes it so special. This feature allows you to take the ATV out on any terrain.
The Hisun Forge 400 4X4 ATV is quite large, even though the photos may not show it. These dimensions are 82.5i x 42x 46in. It has a front rack capacity of 44 lbs and 77 on the back. The ATV can tow up to 1,200 pounds and has a fuel tank capacity of 2.9 Gallons. The Hisun Forge 400 4X4 is 25 inches in size. Polaris Trail Boss 3330
Polaris has had the Trail Boss 330 for more than a decade. It received a much-needed facelift in 2010. The Trail Boss 330 has been in Polaris’ lineup for over a decade. You can read our full review here. But the bottom line is that it’s an affordable and fun-to-ride ATV with surprising utility. The Trail Boss’ Lock-and-Ride compatible steel racks allow it to carry 200 pounds of cargo, more than the 2010 Sportsman 400 H.O. You can tow up to 850 pounds.
The suspension was upgraded in 2010, with 8.2 inches of travel in front and 10.5 in back. Although it does the job, it is not Sportsman-level smooth. Although climbing over small rocks and logs is easy, the machine can be difficult to use in mud running or rock climbing.
The 330cc air-cooled engine packs a lot of power. You can slide your back into the corners when you’re feeling adventurous. Pinning the throttle as you tear down the trails will bring you a lot of smiles.
Polaris seems to have a vehicle for everyone, so if you’re looking for something sportier, the Trail Blazer 330 is for you. The Trail Boss is the same machine but has a sportier appearance and no racks. You can also purchase it for $4,299.
Honda Rancher Base
Honda is known for making high-quality products that can withstand more abuse than you might expect. Quality doesn’t come cheap, at least not always. Honda’s entry-level ATV is a solid FourTrax Rancher at a surprisingly low price.
Base 4×2 Ranchers come with a fuel-injected, 420cc engine. This is powerful enough to get you going down the trail quickly. This engine is a big deal for the price, especially from Honda.
The Rancher does not have a fully-automatic transmission. This is a unique feature. Although it is not common for utility ATVs to have a manual transmission, this may not be an issue if you like to shift gears and have more control. It’s as simple as pressing a button on your left handlebar to change gears.
A swingarm rear suspension is available on the base Rancher. It has both positives and disadvantages. Although you lose some ground clearance and traction in the mud or gnarlier terrain, it is a good choice for beginners. Swing arm rear suspension is more stable than independent rear suspension, especially when going into corners with speed.
FourTrax Recon
FourTrax Recon is priced at $4,299 and falls under the same category as Kawasaki Bruteforce 300. The FourTrax Recon’s unique design is what makes it stand out. The FourTrax Recon will make you feel cool, but that’s just the beginning. You can haul gear with the ATV’s two rails at the front and back. The FourTrax Recon is a great choice for camping and hunting trips.
FourTrax Recon’s engine is powered by a 229cc motor paired with a 5-speed reverse transmission. The transmission also features an automatic clutch, making it easier for riders and drivers to change gears. According to the owner’s manual, the engine can reach speeds of 45mph and 50mph depending on the road conditions. Safety is the most important thing when riding an ATV. If you opt for the FourTrax Recon, the brakes won’t be a problem. A dual-sealed hydraulic drum with rear and front brakes ensures maximum stopping power.
Polaris Phoenix 200
The Polaris Phoenix 200 Sport ATV is great for children aged 14 and over. The ATV’s powerful 196cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine provides it with all the power it needs. Parents or guardians can also set a speed limiter. You also get a helmet, a safety flag, and an instructional DVD.
